Dénia liegt an der Costa Blanca und mehr oder weniger mittig zwischen Alicante und Valencia. Und ist so gar nicht, wie man - oder ich - sich einen Nachbarort von Benidorm vorstellt.
Es fühlt sich an wie eine typische spanische Kleinstadt mit Altstadt und Burg (Tapas in der Calle Loreto), Segel-und Fährhafen, Wochenmarkt (mit leckeren Nisperos, die es nur in Spanien und Portugal zu geben scheint), Piazzas und ganz "normalen" Straßenzügen mit Supermercados, Dönerläden und allem, was man halt so braucht. Und ist natürlich Frühlings/Sommerresidenz meines letzten Yoga Urlaubes.
Dénia located on the Costa Blanca halfway between Alicante and Valencia is not what you - or I did - expect from a neighbouring city of Benidorm.
Instead it feels like a typical Spanish town with its old part and castle (tapas in Calle Loreto), its marina, piazzas and everyday life with farmers' markets (selling yummie nisperos one seem to only find in Spain and Portugal) , supermercados and even fast food places. Not to forget - it's also spring and summer location of my recent yoga holiday.
