Auf der Suche nach Grunge waren wir nach Seattle aufgebrochen. Auch wenn uns Kurt und Jimi (dass der Held meiner Jugend ursprünglich aus Seattle stammte, war mir irgendwie nie bewusste gewesen) nur im Museumsformat begegnet sind, ist die Stadt toll und hat einen alternativen vibe, den einen über Regen und Grau leicht hinwegsehen lässt. Neben dem EMP, dem Seattle Centre und den tollen Coffee Shops/Bakeries hat mir besonders Fremont mit seinen Skulpturen und der Vintage Mall gefallen.
Searching for Grunge we made it to Seattle for the weekend. Even though we only found Kurt and Jimi (never actually knew that the hero of my youth was from Seattle, too!) in a museum, the city is great and has such an alternative vibe that rain and its greyness can be easily overlooked. In addition to the EMP, the Seattle Centre and its coffee culture I really enjoyed Fremont with its arty sculpture and the Vintage Mall.
